"We all could go insane with just one bad day" #SmallWins

I used to be really superstitious.🔅

I used to think that if a day started off on the wrong foot, then the rest of the day was going to be bad and I just needed to tough it out and try again the next day.

This was before I learned about the term "small wins" and how much better it is for your mental health to take things one at a time. The 'all or nothing mentality' can be extremely dangerous and sets you up to fall short or feel like you've fallen short.

So now even if my day gets off on the wrong foot, I choose not to write off the whole day. I try to think "am I really going to let a few minutes ruin the next few hours of my day, no that would be silly."

Instead I try to cross off at least one thing on my 'To-Do' list…no matter how small. It could be going grocery shopping, or doing an at home workout or finishing up my notes for a class.

What I've found over the last few years is that when you take it one step at a time, rather than trying to carry it all and do it all at once, you accomplish more.

Your mentality switches from trying to get 15 things on your to-do list done, to getting it done 1 or 2 at a time. It's so much healthier and you'll find yourself much more at peace. 💆🏾‍♀️

The rule of thumb in Consulting is to "Under-promise and over-deliver" - this can also be applied to our daily lives ⭐️If you set out to cross of 1-3 things on your to-do list, you'll probably end up accomplishing even more and ending your day off on the right foot! 💃🏾

P.S. the title quote is from a show called "Gotham" 😉
