Is TikTok taking on LinkedIn & Indeed?
For my very first blog post I hypothesized that as millennials and gen Z started moving up the managerial & executive branches at companies the way in which we look for jobs, recruit and get hired will begin to evolve. This will differ from the traditional 'submit a resume and go through 2-3 interview stages' that we know today. 💃🏾
TikTok has taken the first steps towards this as they just announced that they will be piloting a program (still in beta) that is designed to help people find jobs on TikTok and connect them with companies looking for candidates 💻. These companies will be hiring for majority entry-level roles and will be able to use TikTok as a recruitment channel whereby the candidates are able to express their skills and experience in a creative way that best suits them. 🙌🏾
This new platform will directly challenge sites like Indeed and LinkedIn jobs to attract young professionals and students.
A digital portfolio / resume is the kind of creative freedom people need if you want them to be able to show up authentically at work - something that companies seem to be pushing for these days. 📝
We spend too much time at work to not be able to show up as we are and enjoy the work we're doing on a daily basis. This is just the first step to what I believe will be a glass-ceiling breaker ⭐️
