How to excel at your internship and get a return offer!

The first month of your internship is crucial for building rapport and building important relationships within your team and company! ๐Ÿ™Œ๐Ÿพ You're showing off your personality, producing good work to let them know you'd be a great employee, while also learning about the other parts of the company in case there's anything else that appeals to you. โญ๏ธ Here are the 6 things you should try to accomplish in your 1st month interning: ๐Ÿ‘ฉ๐Ÿพโ€๐ŸŽ“ Grab coffee chat with your manager and your other teammates ๐Ÿ‘ฉ๐Ÿพโ€๐ŸŽ“ Set up weekly or biweekly check-ins with your manager (& buddy if you have one) ๐Ÿ‘ฉ๐Ÿพโ€๐ŸŽ“ Have a timetable for completing your orientation tasks ๐Ÿ‘ฉ๐Ÿพโ€๐ŸŽ“ Ask yourself: "what goals do I want to accomplish during my internship?" Write it down & tell your manager ๐Ÿ‘ฉ๐Ÿพโ€๐ŸŽ“ Understand what other teams do & how it relates to your role ๐Ÿ‘ฉ๐Ÿพโ€๐ŸŽ“ Keep track of all your tasks - this is so good for building your resume & keeping your manager up to date with what you're up to Last week I was asked by a student on Instagram, how to best position herself to hopefully get a return offer for full-time. I got 2 return offers from previous internships and will be giving you my top 5 tips to do the same! P.S. On June 8th my e-book will be released! I will be detailing my networking and job search journey and giving you ALL the steps I took to land 6 offers in 2020 before I graduated ๐Ÿฅณ There'll be templates to guide your on your networking journey - both in person and virtually. I will also be describing how I've been building my personal and professional brand as a young professional! ๐Ÿ’ผ Make it known! During your first month, network with your manager & superiors and drop it into the conversation that you're thinking about the future and would love to join them. ๐Ÿ’ผ Learn your team Make it your goal to learn all about your team and how it operates within the company and with other departments. Become so integral in the workings of the team that they can't imagine it without you! ๐Ÿ’ผ Be overly curious When you learn about another task or another area of your team's work that isn't directly related to the work you've been given, make it known that you would like to learn more! ๐Ÿ’ผ Keep a brag book & share it Make note of the tasks you're doing daily and share it with your manager / buddy at the end of each week or every other week so they see the strides you're making. ๐Ÿ’ผ Get involved Apart from doing good work, get involved with company activities to learn more about your colleagues outside of work. This will also allow you to continue showing off your amazing personality!
